SALIENS
SALIENS — YouTube integration
SALIENS is operated by Oxford Intelligence Limited for The Other Book. This integration connects the owner-managed YouTube channel to the publishing workspace. It verifies channel ownership and requests an ongoing grant for channel reading and video uploading. The owner can preview and upload one 44-second test video as Private. Public distribution is not enabled.
Privacy and Google user data
With your consent, OI uses YouTube API Services to read channel identity and verify that the selected channel is The Other Book. OI stores the channel ID, title, granted permissions, connection time and an encrypted refresh token. The application secret is also encrypted. These credentials remain on the server and are not returned to the dashboard or included in activity logs.
This data is used to operate the requested channel connection and private video test. The test video is stored privately in the workspace infrastructure. An encrypted temporary upload address supports resuming an interrupted upload. OI records the video ID, channel ID, privacy state, processing status and activity time so the owner can verify the result. Tokens and upload addresses stay on the server. Google user data is not sold, used for advertising profiles, or supplied to models for training.
The channel identity and token are retained while the connection is active. Choose Disconnect and delete YouTube data in the workspace to immediately delete the saved grant, channel identity, permissions, temporary upload address and local video metadata. This also requests revocation at Google; if that request fails, the workspace reports it and still removes the local token. General audit records retain the fact and time of connection or disconnection without storing tokens.
A minimal record that this fixed test was used remains without a channel ID, video ID or provider metadata, to prevent duplicate uploads. The original OI-produced video asset is retained separately. Disconnecting does not delete a video from YouTube. An upload already in flight may finish. You can manage or delete the uploaded video in YouTube Studio.
The active scheduled reviewer checks for connection maintenance every 15 minutes. Provider validation runs at most once daily, with hourly retries after temporary errors. It refreshes retained channel and video metadata and deletes local YouTube data when Google reports that access is revoked or the authorised channel is unavailable. At a maintenance check, data not successfully validated for 25 days is deleted. Owner connection refresh also invokes this maintenance.
You can also revoke access through Google account permissions. For deletion or privacy requests, contact info@theotherbook.io. Google processes information according to its Privacy Policy. Use of YouTube is subject to the YouTube Terms of Service.
